Cheryl Hanzlik finished her professional career as an adjunct professor in biomedical engineering and as a confocal microscopy technician at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) In Rochester, NY in 2014. She attended the University of Rochester where she graduated with an M. A. and Ph. D. in Physics. Her thesis involved biological physics and fast energy transfer." She studied medicine at the University of Rochester with two postdoctoral positions. She also obtained an M. S. in Imaging Science from the RIT. She worked twenty two years for Xerox Corporation as a xerographic materials specialist, a product developer, a manufacturing engineer, and a color imaging scientist. She holds a green belt in Lean Six Sigma and is also a certified SCRUM Master. She is an author of ten patents, six grant proposals, ten scientific publications, seven contributed papers and ten invited papers & presentations. She is editor-in-chief of the 2011 edition of the Cenco Inquiry -Based AP Physics Lab Manual and accompanying lab kits. She has performed outreach in STEM including head robotics mentor for FIRST Nazarex team; Drexel Women in Science and Engineering; Rochester City School District, Girl Scouts and SWE. She is currently retired but available for mentoring. She spends time helping with her grandchildren, gardening and in spiritual activities.
