Profile Biography
I was born and raised in Far Rockaway, Queens. During my senior year at Townsend Harris High School, I interned at the Aquarium for Wildlife Conservation in Brooklyn, NY. As an education intern, I helped to educate the public about the importance of wildlife conservation. I also assisted in educational workshops and handled animals in a hands-on aquarium.

Through my love of environmental science and geology, I graduated with a B.A. from Alfred University, majoring in Environmental Sciences with an emphasis in natural sciences and geology. Since I grew up a "beach baby" (near the coast), I still couldn't get the ocean out of my system, therefore, in August of 2001, I was happily accepted to the Masters Graduate Program at the College of Marine Science.

I decided to move back home to Queens, New York and landed my first real full-time job as a Museum Educator at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum. While at the Museum, I developed their marine science and teacher professional development. I was also lucky to continue my journey in promoting and support girls and STEM and became Coordinator of GOALS for Girls. Through generous funds, I developed (and still develop) the GOALS (Greater Opportunities Advancing Leadership and Science) for Girls, STEM based program at the Museum.

My goal in life is to continue learning and exploring new ways to provide dynamic STEM and leadership programs for not only students but communities as a whole. It is necessary and important to support people as a whole through hands-on, experiential opportunities to explore in a safe and non-stressful environment.
